Donation Programme– Performing Arts Camp for project Čhavorenge

All activities of MIRET have been developed with great determination and the feeling that MIRET is responsible for the morality and spirituality of our life, for our hope.

Our beloved friends and supporters,

The civic association Miret, dedicated to educative, cultural and artistic activities and helping and supporting talented Roma children and youth, asks for your help.

We are looking for sponsors for Roma children selected under strict criteria to participate in the Performing Arts Camp project ČHAVORENGE which will be held on 8.-21.7.2012.

We offer a rich creative programme and strongly believe that the supervision of a qualified artistic team will allow them to work on themselves and their progress.

Project Čhavorenge 2011, with MIRET as its patron, was created this year in January as a pilot programme to extend work with talented Roma children. Under the supervision of Artstic Director and singer Ida Kelarová, the founder of the choir featuring Roma children and youth and Performing Arts Camp participants, the choir was met with great success. In the future, the choir plans to extend its repertoire, perform at home and abroad, promoting Romani culture on a professional and international level.

The selected children come mainly from homes and socially disadvantaged families from Bohemia, Moravia and Slovakia and Slovakian settlements. Children range from ages 6-19 and for many of them this will be their first experience of this kind - and they will be able to experience it thanks to you, because without your donation they would have never had the chance to participate in this project.

We are searching for donors who would be willing to cover the expenses (travel costs, accommodation, board and pocket money) for 45 Roma children and youth.

The overall amount for one child to cover the expenses for the 14-day camp is 280EUR.

For the children, all workshops and programme activities are free of charge.

If you decide to donate and thus ensure a place for a child at this international performing arts camp, we will keep you informed and send you photographs from the workshops and camp.

We are grateful to all of you who support us but mainly give gifted children who have not had the opportunity a chance to shine.
